SEN

first mediate - don't litigate

"Talking about it can help"

Mediation is...

  • a way of helping people with a shared problem to find a resolution
  • a vehicle for communication/negotiation
  • voluntary
  • free
  • confidential - unless everyone agrees otherwise
  • neutral

Mediation will not affect your statutory rights

What happens in Mediation?

  • first mediation will contact everyone involved.
  • first mediation will arrange a visit to hear about the problem and explain the process.
  • first mediation will then arrange a joint meeting if all parties want this to happen.
  • At the meeting, the Mediators will help both sides reach a settlement or agreement on how to move forward.

What should you do now?

Mediation may be able to help if everyone involved agrees mediation is the best way forward. If you wish to proceed please contact Linda Darnell, at
